As part of our ongoing ‘3 minute series’ of blog posts, we’re chatting to various members of the talented gomo team around the world to get to know them a bit better. If you haven’t already seen them, check out our previous ‘3 minutes’ Q&As with Director of Product Development Gavin Beddow, Business Development Manager in the US Thom Tate, Lead Test & Support Guru Pratibha Shah, Developer James Hough, Senior Mobile Architect Adam Fox, Marketing Operations Manager Elle Brown and Managing Director Mike Alcock. Today we’re talking to James, a gifted developer who enjoys the great outdoors.
Tell us about yourself – who are you?
I’m James and I’m a developer at gomo. I’ve worked in the eLearning industry for most of my career and really enjoy the variety of work and the technology we use. I love riding mountain bikes, hiking, climbing, camping and hanging out with my little boy who I hope to introduce to all of these things once he is old enough. At home I do a lot of cooking and enjoy a good sci-fi movie – Blade Runner is my all-time favorite film.
What’s your greatest achievement?
My greatest achievement so far is probably rock climbing on the sea cliffs of Pembroke while the seals watched. I spent a lot of time learning the skills needed and getting all of the right gear sorted out, so topping out on the hardest climb I’d ever done was a great feeling.
What do you do at gomo?
At gomo, I’m a developer based in the Brighton office. I am responsible for fixing any issues we find, building client themes, new assets and other new features that help improve gomo.
Why do you love working at gomo?
I love working at gomo because the team is very friendly and the work is constantly changing and interesting. It’s a great place for me to learn new skills from the talented developers and I enjoy being part of a successful product that people enjoy using.
Finally, favorite chocolate bar and why?
We love getting to know people here at gomo, so if you want to find out more about us then get in touch to speak to a member of the team.
