As part of our ongoing ‘3 minute series’ of blog posts, we’re chatting to various members of the talented gomo team around the world to get to know them a bit better. If you haven’t already seen them, check out our previous ‘3 minutes’ Q&As with Director of Product Development Gavin Beddow, Business Development Manager in the US Thom Tate, Lead Test & Support Guru Pratibha Shah, Developer James Hough and Senior Mobile Architect Adam Fox. Now let’s meet gomo’s Marketing Operations Manager.
Today we’re talking to Elle. This fun, feisty Northern Irishwoman is in charge of gomo’s marketing operations and most of the technical aspects of digital marketing.
Tell us about yourself – who are you?
Hi, I’m Elle. I’m Northern Irish and an unashamed coffee addict. When I’m not at work I’m skating around hitting people with the rest of the Brighton Rockers Roller Derby team. I’m also a big sci-fi/fantasy fan. Whether it’s books, games or movies, if it’s nerdy I probably love it.
What’s your greatest achievement?
I left Northern Ireland in 2007 with one suitcase and the clothes on my back, heading to Brighton where I’d never visited, didn’t know anyone and had nowhere to live. Sounds promising so far? Three years later I got my degree and three years after that I bought my first flat. There are lots of things I’m proud of but my greatest achievement was definitely that first step when my 19-year-old self decided to make something of my life. Thankfully, it all worked out.
What do you do at gomo?
I look after our sales and marketing systems to make sure that our database is clean and up to date. Part of that involves ensuring that we’re legally compliant in regards to housing our customer’s data and communicating with them. Another part is ensuring the correct processes are followed in regards to capturing new data through our website. If there is something remotely digital happening from a marketing point of view, I’m usually involved.
Why do you love working at gomo?
gomo is a brilliant company, but of course I’m going to say that, right? Before I came here I knew very little about authoring tools. The software is fantastic but I don’t even think that’s the best part of gomo. Everyone here genuinely cares about helping our customers succeed. They way we see it, if our customers are successful then so are we.
Finally, favorite chocolate bar and why?
It’s not a typical ‘chocolate bar’ but I do definitely have an unhealthy obsession with Reese’s Peanut butter cups. That and sweet and salted popcorn are my biggest weaknesses.
We love getting to know people here at gomo, so if you want to find out more about us then get in touch to speak to a member of the team.
